Dear members of the Summit Family, Friends and Colleagues,

We are in preparation for the fourth International Youth Media Summit (will be held in Serbia, 19th to 28th of August 2009)!
This is the preliminary call for application for the participation on the 4th Summit.

IYMS invites organizations, schools and other institutions working with media to nominate two young media enthusiasts 15-22 years old to participate in the 4th International Youth Media Summit, August 19th to 28th in Serbia. The young participants could be candidates as Student Filmmakers and Student Diplomats. Beside the official delegates for the Summit, there are two more ways in which you can participate: as a guest and as a presenter.

The outcomes of the Summit are Public Service Announcements (PSAs) filmed and edited by student filmmakers as well as researched and prepared by the student diplomats.

The program of the Summit is exclusively designed to provide Skill and Professional Development as well as familiarizing the young participants with codes and standards of Media. Also, provide media platform for young adults to express and present the seven significant issues relating to them globally!

After very successful preparation workshop (Global Mobil Reporters, International Winter Multimedia Workshop, Serbia, December 2008) under the coordination of International Youth MultiMedia Summit and Media Education Centre, with support of European Commission and European Association for Viewers Interests and Swedish Institute and participation of the delegates from 12 Countries we will have special Teams working on radio and TV reporting IN REAL TIME!

First time we would like to include radio in the Summit's activities. I hope that we will have seven radio teams... Also, we will have every day real time streaming on the internet of all main activities of the summit. We will have also Summits Internet TV Station (IYMS TV) with 24 hours of program... Who is interested to see what we like to produce during the Summit can see our program we will do during the two days of the International Puppet Theater Festival, 17th and 18th of May 2009. Innovation is that 4th Summit will be TRAVELING! We like to make as much as possible VISIBILITY of the Summit and to give opportunity to NEIGBORHOOD COUNTRIES to (Romania, Hungary, Croatia) to visit us and to participate in the Summits Activities. We will start with Opening Ceremony in Belgrade, 20th of August, 21st of August we will go to Vrsac, nice city at the North of Serbia and we will stay in Vrsac three days (21st, 22nd and 23dr). From Vrsac we will go to Becej and we will stay three days in Becej (24th, 25th and 26th of August). Closing Ceremony of the Summit will be in the nice city of Novi Sad (27th of August)! From Novi Sad to Belgrade Airport is around 75 KM (one hour by car).

Media Education Centre and Media Laboratory have partnered with international organizations, the film and entertainment industry on the Democracy Video Challenge, asking youth around the world to create short videos completing the statement "Democracy IN: ...health…violence…racism…women’s rights…poverty…environment…youth empowerment"

Who can participate: Institution, Organization and Creative Groups working with young people in field of Media Literacy, Media Education and Education in Media like TOOL:

All participants have to be in Serbia 9th of December 2008.

For those come in Serbia by plain, we will have welcome service at the Belgrade Airport. Media Education Centre will provide local transport Airport-Becej.
For participants come in Becej by car we will provide detailed map with instruction how to find Becej.

Workshop: from 10th to 14th of December we will work in five different groups: Short Film, Animation, TV Report (Mobile Reporters), Internet Radio Report (Mobile Reporters), and WEB Report (Mobile Reporters).
During the Workshop young participants will have opportunity to use NOKIA N-95 mobile phone like tool for Media Creativity. We will help to all participants to understand how mobile phone could be creative and fast tool.

14th of December, International Day of Broadcasting for Children, we will open Interactive Multimedia Exhibition with our great partner RADIJOJO!’, from Berlin, Germany: same content in two different countries, in Germany and Serbia, with open Internet Communication Bridge, tool for communication of audience in Berlin and Becej. We will show Internet Online Broadcasting possibility of the Outcomes of our project.

15th of December is departure of the participants!
